Our Mission

Our team provides exceptional personalized eye surgery.  We use the most advanced techniques to both restore and improve the visual capabilities of our patients so they may lead fulfilling lives.  We are also committed to serving the blind in areas of extreme need and poverty internationally.

Our Story

Batchelet Eye is a practice dedicated to providing high touch and high technology care.  We are committed to creating a comforting atmosphere focused on collaboration with our patients to identify their unique vision needs.  We then help them reach their goals with the use of a wide range of the most advanced technology. 

Dr. Batchelet is a highly skilled surgeon with years of training and experience. He was trained at the world renowned Wills Eye Hospital.  He has completed over 20,000 cataract surgeries, LASIK, and minimally invasive glaucoma procedures.  This experience allows him to provide more predictable results with a level of safety that is far beyond what is typical for most eye surgeons.  He is experienced in refractive lens exchange, ICL implantation with the EVO+ lens and is one of only four surgeons in Western Pennsylvania who has experience with the Light Adjustable Lens.  

Dr. Batchelet is also one of very few surgeons who offers dropless cataract surgery eliminating the need for postoperative eye drops after cataract surgery in most patients.

Outreach

Dr. Batchelet is a medical missionary who works with an organization called ChOSEN, which stands for Christian Ophthalmic Expedition Network. He regularly travels to Nicaragua and Mexico to provide cataract surgery for those in need, helping to restore sight and improve lives in underserved communities.
